Added flowers to Dún An Óir planter

Chatting in the Tidy Towns meeting last night I offered to donate some of the flowers in my yard (which will probably be composted in a couple of weeks) to this bare planter.



So took some huge marigolds and the self-seeding nasturtiums to the planter.









Rain is due later which is good and I tied them up against the wind. Good to see how similar planters fare as the weather becomes more wintery

   Shannon Tidy Towns now has a PV powered LED light and WiFi in the 40' Drumgeely container This is a temporary replacement to the 100W system we had in place on top of the 40' container last year in the Olympic Soccer Grounds. (We expect to install a more substantial PV system this Summer) It has two 100W flexible solar panels secured to the roof with battens. These feed through an isolation switch before coming inside the container to the charge controller. This is an Epever LS2024B model that uses PWM to keep a 12V car battery charged up. A litter pick starting at Shannon Town Park

Tony helped Eileen W, Eileen M, Caren, Alan and Derek as two teams tackle the litter. Meeting at the bandstand in the town park we split into two teams. Tony headed off with the two Eileens and pulled some split one tonne bags out of the park before heading out along Gort Road, up the hill and back towards Drumgeely. Finally clearing litter at the bottom of Tullyglass Hill (opposite Tola Park) Tony  also picked up 5 more dangerous li-ion vapes to add to his collection.
