River Walk embankments clean up

 Thank you to the employees of AXA Insurance Shannon and our own evergiving volunteers who came out yesterday and picked 20 bags of rubbish along our River Walk embankments.

And thanks again to Donna for the photos which highlight the beauty in the area and why we remove the nasty rubbish that damages it.

Again we provided cakes and tea afterwards at the Town Park Bandstand as a thank you to everyone for coming out and making the effort.

A litter pick starting at Shannon Town Park

Tony helped Eileen W, Eileen M, Caren, Alan and Derek as two teams tackle the litter. Meeting at the bandstand in the town park we split into two teams. Tony headed off with the two Eileens and pulled some split one tonne bags out of the park before heading out along Gort Road, up the hill and back towards Drumgeely. Finally clearing litter at the bottom of Tullyglass Hill (opposite Tola Park) Tony  also picked up 5 more dangerous li-ion vapes to add to his collection.
