Added some active wormy compost from home to our Drumgeely compost

Image
I took two of the hanging planters and emptied them into our compost bin along with the soil from the 6 or so giant marigolds.  I also added compost from home which has lots of worms!

Got temperature and humidity sensor working again in polytunnel

Image
So I've been using slan-031 LoRaWAN sensor for a while at home in Tola Park. But put it in a wooden box a deployed it in one of the Drumgeely polytunnels earlier today. I also changed the graph at MondoDB to show slan-031 data rather than slan-008 data. Graphs can be viewed on Shannon Town Wetlands  website: https://ShannonTownWetlands.ie/wordpress/index.php/environmental-sensors/drumgeely-polytunnels/

A litter pick starting at Shannon Town Park

Image
Tony helped Eileen W, Eileen M, Caren, Alan and Derek as two teams tackle the litter. Meeting at the bandstand in the town park we split into two teams. Tony headed off with the two Eileens and pulled some split one tonne bags out of the park before heading out along Gort Road, up the hill and back towards Drumgeely. Finally clearing litter at the bottom of Tullyglass Hill (opposite Tola Park) Tony  also picked up 5 more dangerous li-ion vapes to add to his collection.

Polytunnel LoRaWAN sensor restored and transmitting!

Image
I'd been testing the slan-093 BME680 temperature/humidity/air pressure sensor at home the last few days and redeployed it in the polytunnel this morning. It's now happily transmitting its data every 30 mins via the Drumgeely TTN gateway! They will need covering before the sprinklers are in use! https://shannontownwetlands.ie/environmental-sensors/drumgeely-polytunnels

I cleaned the polytunnel gutters every few days and check on test plants and composter

Image
Only a few leaves from the last time I cleared :) And the plants soil was very moist. Maybe someone else is watering? I added a few buckets of water to the composter

Sadly the weeds are back! Carpet rose beds

Image
After giving a deep weeding a few months ago the weeds are back with a vengeance! Also a lot of pipe work is going on so the Dun an Oir and Corrib Drive rose beds may not survive.
